Apartment 6,
Chalets D'Adelaide, Grimentz
The apartment
Our modern chalet has been built with a respect for what was here before it: two hundred year old larch wood, local stone and the architectural language of the mountains. Alongside these traditional materials, however, sits everything you might reasonably expect from a thoroughly modern home.
A warm, comfortable and rather beautiful place to retreat to in this gentle, still relatively undiscovered corner of the Alps. We are Building A, in the Chalet d’Adelade complex, right beside the pistes. When the snow is behaving itself, this means you can ski directly to the door, and be on your way again in the morning without the traditional Alpine ritual of lugging your skis to the lifts. The apartment sleeps up to eight people, with three bedrooms, two bathrooms and plenty of room to gather, eat, read, play and generally enjoy being somewhere else.
Three bedrooms: two double beds for adults and two sets of bunk beds for up to four children
Two bathrooms: both with showers, including a large rain shower ensuite, plus a deep, generous bath for long post mountain soaks
A huge balcony: with panoramic views across the surrounding mountains
Ski and boot locker: conveniently located in the garage, just metres from the piste
Private indoor parking: one dedicated parking space
Very comfortable beds: hotel quality linen, cosy mattresses and plush down duvets
A properly equipped kitchen: with the essentials already waiting for you, including tea, coffee, spices, pasta and a few useful tins
An eight seater dining table: with rolling chairs, because family meals should involve generous quantities of food and, occasionally, the rearrangement of furniture
Luxury towels and toiletries: with a hairdryers provided
Wood burning stove: for the particular pleasure of fire when there is snow outside
Underfloor heating: for warm feet, regardless of what the weather is doing
Ultra fast internet, television and radio: for when you have finally exhausted the mountains, the books and each other.
With easy access to safe outdoor spaces where children can disappear into the snow and return considerably later, usually hungry.
Extras:
The apartment is fundamentally self catered, giving you the freedom to make the place entirely your own. But holidays are, after all, meant to feel like holidays.
If you would prefer to arrive to a stocked fridge, have someone take care of the cleaning, arrange grocery deliveries or add a little extra help during your stay, we can arrange it. Just tell us what would make your time here easier and we will see what we can do.
We can also arrange ski passes and ski equipment rental in advance, so that everything is waiting for you when you arrive.
In short, come for the skiing, the mountains, the snow or simply the pleasure of being somewhere wonderfully quiet. We will take care of the rest.
